Community Guidelines

Welcome to HiveLoco! Our mission is to connect communities and foster safe, helpful, and friendly conversations between neighbors. To achieve this, we ask all members to adhere to our Community Guidelines.

1. Be Respectful and Kind

Every voice in our neighborhood matters. We expect all conversations to be polite, civil, and constructive. Disagreements are natural, but personal attacks, harassment, and abuse will not be tolerated.

  • No name-calling, insults, or demeaning remarks.
  • No hate speech, discrimination, or stereotyping based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality.
  • Avoid passive-aggressive comments or trolling.

2. Keep it Local and Relevant

HiveLoco is built specifically for hyperlocal community sharing. Keep posts focused on things that directly affect or interest your local neighborhood or sector.

  • Discuss local events, announcements, traffic, or utility updates.
  • Request or share recommendations for nearby services, shops, and handymen.
  • Avoid global political debates, religious preachings, or off-topic memes that do not relate to local life.

3. Share Accurately, Prevent Rumors

Misinformation can cause unnecessary panic in a community. Verify details before posting safety alerts, local incidents, or news.

  • Do not spread unverified rumors, conspiracy theories, or fake news.
  • Provide context, references, or images where appropriate.
  • Be clear when you are sharing an opinion vs. stating a fact.

4. Respect Privacy and Safety

Never compromise the privacy, security, or safety of your fellow neighbors. Keep private conversations private.

  • No doxxing: do not share anyone's phone numbers, home addresses, or personal identity details without consent.
  • Do not post screenshots of private messages or chats.
  • Do not take and share photos or videos of neighbors in compromising or private situations.

5. Authentic Identity

We believe trust is built on real identities. Please use your real name and actual neighborhood location when signing up.

  • Do not create fake profiles, impersonate others, or claim to live in neighborhoods where you do not.
  • Do not use temporary emails or bots to manipulate upvotes, questions, or answers.
